Why isn’t the word “sodomite” in the NIV?

The answer is because there were homosexuals (what the Bible terms “Sodomites” after the city of Sodom which God destroyed because of it’s woeful wickedness) on the NIV translating committee. One such sodomite was Virginia Mollenkott. Another sodomite was the Chairman of the NIV Old Testament Committee! The name of the sodomite? Dr. Marten H. Woudstra (he’s dead now). The following quote was ascribed to Dr. Woudstra, Chairman of the NIV Old Testament Committee:
“There is nothing in the Old Testament that corresponds to homosexuality as we understand it today”
Is it any wonder why the word “sodomite” is not in the NIV? It doesn’t require too much thinking. Look below and see what they replaced the word “sodomite” with:

Why is this important? A couple of reasons.
1. Ever heard of “Sodomy Laws”? It was illegal in the U.S. to be a sodomite (now people call ‘em homosexuals); hence SODOMY laws. In a generation or two, people, including Christians who read the NIV, won’t know where the word sodomite came from.
2. This change from sodomite to “shrine prostitute” tells us that homosexuality isn’t bad, there are just some homosexuals doing bad things. This sentiment has been expressed by a number of pro-sodomite individuals who claim Christ. They are deceiving themselves for the scripture says the effeminate and abusers of themselves with mankind won’t inherit the kingdom of heaven.
This NIV revelation makes me want to use the word “sodomite” all the time! I plan to use it in place of the nicer sounding “homosexual”. The sodomites were criminals that were destroyed by God for their wicked practices. Men with men working that which is unseemly–receiving in themselves the recompence of their error which was meet. Mmmm, interesting stuff here on the sodomites. Yet some professing Christian will write me quoting NIV scholars and complaining that the KJV is full of errors! We know what happens when the blind lead the blind–both shall fall into the ditch!

Dr. Virginia Mollenkott, a literary critic on the NIV translation is an open homosexual. In the Episcopal magazine, Witness (June 1991, pp. 20-23), she admits,

“My homosexuality has always been a part of me…”
I wonder why you can’t find the word “sodomite” in the NIV? Look it up in Deut. 23:17, I Kings 14:24, 15:12, 22:46, II Kings 23:7. Do you think an avowed homosexual put her two cents in it? If so, what about “the accuracy” everybody’s talking about? Lord have mercy.

Look at I Corinthians 6:9 which talks about how the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God. The King James Bible says,

“effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind”
The King James says all homosexuals are unrighteous. What does the NIV say?

“Male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders”
The NIV says only law breaking homosexuals are unrighteous. Oh, I see, so what you’re saying is committing sodomy and other perverse sex acts with someone of the same sex is alright if you don’t break the law. Oh, okay–no, it’s not okay. Do you think that some homosexual influence clouded the minds of the translators? Where in the world is that elusive accuracy that IBS is marketing all over the place?

Even people who read the NIV must surely recognize that homosexuality is sin. It is not because they learned it from the NIV. It is because they are old enough to remember what they learned from the King James Bible. And you goin’ to let your kids read this dung called the New International Version?

The NIV teaches heresy, because Jesus is not God’s one and only Son. Evidently the ignoramuses who translated the NIV never read John 1:12… “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” Those idiots never read 1st John 3:1… “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.” The truth of the matter is that God has MANY sons, but only one BEGOTTEN Son. Jesus was born of a miraculous virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23), and entered this world as the Godhead incarnate, i.e., God in the flesh (Colossians 2:9; 1st Timothy 3:16). How could the NIV translating committee be so stupid? It is no small matter to translate the Word’s of Almighty God, especially when you CHANGE what He said. The Bible, in numerous references, warns and pronounces a curse upon all Bible corrupters (Deuteronomy 4:2; Galatians 1:8-9; 2nd Peter 3:16; Revelation 22:19). “…for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God” (Jeremiah 23:36). The King James Bible translates John 3:16 absolutely 100% correct. The word “begotten” is there in John 3:16, because Jesus is indeed the only begotten Son of God. Every born again believer is an adopted son of God… “To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons” (Galatians 4:5). Every Christian is an adopted child into God’s family. So if you have a Bible, make sure that the “word” begotten in present in John 3:16, or else throw it into the garbage after tearing it up
